Understanding basic boot terminology
SOLE: The inner sole is where your foot rests when wearing the boot. The outer sole is the bottom of the boot.
HEEL: Heels are usually leather, formed and glued together, fitted and shaped to the back portion of the outer sole. Heels come in different shapes, sizes, and heights, depending on the intended use of the boot.
TOE: The toe of the boot may come in many different shapes; some of the most popular are R, snip, square, and roper.
VAMP: The front lower part of the boot below the shaft, usually cut from a single piece of leather or skin. However, vamps are sometimes pieced and sewn together to give the boot a unique look.
COUNTER: The back part of the boot, just above the heel, usually matches the leather or skin used in the vamp.
SHAFT: Sometimes referred to as the top, upper part, of the boot or the boot-maker´s canvas for expression. The shaft usually has different types of stitching patterns, designs, laser cuts, inlays, or other artwork, to make the boot unique. The shaft may also include laser cut designs, with or without exotic skin, leather, or other inlays underneath.
PIPING: The side seam that runs up the side of the boot from the bottom to the top, between the front and back section, of the shaft. Piping is usually found on the inside and outside of the shaft but may be used in other areas to add unique design appearance.
PULL STRAPS: Leather tabs or straps found at the very top of the shaft on both sides, usually on the outside of the shaft. However, on some boots, the pull straps may be found on the inside of the shaft. They are used to help pull the boot on. Some pull straps called “mule ears” may go partially or all the way down the outside of the shaft.
LINING: Found on the inside of the shaft. The lining covers the seam where the front and back half of the shaft is sewn together. All Corral Boots come with a full inside lining which covers the inside seam, adding to the boot´s comfort.
These honestly are the best boots I've ever owned! The look is fantastic...love the half boot height! I have Fryes, Diba True boots and several other brands but these Corral boots are the best! The fit is true to size and allows for thicker socks. Jeans fit over them fine. Have had several compliments on them already!
Would definitely buy again!
Good quality, look fantastic. 👌
Beautiful boots, outstanding craftsmanship
Love these boots right out of the box. No break in needed.. they already feel and look broke in… can’t ask for a better pair of skids!!
Im in love with my boots
My interior designer came to my house wearing these one day and I immediately asked what they were! I promptly ordered a pair (very true to size & extremely comfortable) and have received so many compliments on them! My daughter is already asking for some for Christmas! This won't be my last pair!
I absolutely love these boots! I have high instep, one knee full of adhesions so chronic pain with no range of motion, and I braces on feet and special shoes with special heels on them and orthotics inside until I was 13. I have a life of buying expensive shoes and boots I can wear once, one or two hours or return unworn. First time I swore these I was on my feet six hours straight with absolutely no discomfort in fact felt good! I’m sad they don’t come in another color because I would order immediately in every one. I’m trying to find closest style to it so as to have a choice in color. I would in fact choose these over my most comfortable sneakers to wear all day if I knew there would be lots of walking and time on feet. I’m not someone who leaves reviews but HAD to for these. They fit true to size in my case. I just love everything about them!
About 5 years ago I purchased a beautiful pair of handcrafted Corral boots in Denver, Colorado. I live in Maryland and I receive compliments literally every time I wear the boots! Not only are they super comfortable, but they are also sooo sweet and beautiful! I wanted to get another pair before my first pair wore out and my husband just got me a pair for Chanukah. Of course, the color is different as no two hides are the same, but they are JUST and stunning and adorable as the first pair! Thank you Corral for still making the same style boot as you did years ago. Some things just shouldn’t change!
